Draw From Life Christmas exhibition

A two week exhibition featuring selected works from the 2009 life drawing sessions at Vine & Roses Art Space in Penrith.
The 2009 sessions ran on a weekly basis attended by a diverse school of local practising artists including painters, fashion graduates, installation artists, textile artists, and professional woodcarvers, ceramicists, and stone sculptors.
The artists worked with both male and female models, using a variety of techniques and methods from wash to charcoal to water pencils, and within the two hour sessions responded to deliberately short poses of 30 seconds to more considered 20 minute positions.
The resulting studies are a collection of ‘works in progress’ from some of the participating artists, showing both the different ways of seeing the human form and revealing the energy and sometimes ferocious intensity of the sessions.
Exhibition open: Friday 27 November – Saturday 12 December
10am-5pm Mon-Sat or by appointment: 01768 862969
Participating artists: Michelle Castles, Geoff Cox, Christine Hurford, Kate Gilman Brundrett, Jilly Jarman, Juno Leigh, Piers Merry, Jessica Mills, Hilda Ratcliffe, Irene Sanderson, Vanessa Scott, Phil Szaniszlo, Sue Worth.
